Summary:

Pason will share it’s experience in deploying new technology and specifically the importance of taking a disciplined approach to determine the success of a trial.  From a service company’s perspective, whether the trial is a success or a failure or somewhere in between, they all want some clarity.  More often than not, however, there is insufficient direction from the oil company as to what needs to be done to execute the trial.  This leaves everyone with a poor understanding of whether the new technology worked, what flaws were identified during the trial, and ultimately how the service company should use its R&D resources.  Poor trials tend to drag out the commercialization process for service companies, slowing down the pace of innovation available to oil companies.  This presentation will be geared towards how an oil company can steward a technology trial to make a clear decision on it’s value (or lack thereof) for the benefit of both the customer and vendor.
